Students will soon be able to pay in-state tuition at Virginia universities regardless of immigration status. Currently, undocumented students, and some with pending applications for legal status, do not qualify for in-state tuition. The higher out-of-state tuition often makes college unaffordable for these students, many of whom spent most of their lives in the state. The VA legislature announced, effective July 1, students can establish domicile in VA regardless of immigration status if they meet four requirements. Adriana Robinson elaborates on this great news from The Commonwealth of Virginia.
