Partner Meg Hobbins will be teaching Immigration Law Basics 2020 for the D.C. Bar Continuing Legal Education Program on Tuesday, February 25 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:15 p.m. The course will take place at the DC Bar offices, located at 901 4^th Street NW, Washington, D.C.

The course will cover key statutes, regulations, and fundamental concepts of immigration and nationality law involved in the U.S. immigration system. Attendees will receive an overview of applicable government agencies that administer immigration law, sources of law and practice, immigration terminology, and various immigration forms involved in the application process. The course will also address essential concepts such as non-immigrant versus immigrant visas, temporary visas, inadmissibility, removability, and what it means for a foreign national to be “out of status” or “unlawfully present” in the U.S.
